The first ever game made was made by a physicist called William Higinbotham. This game that was made was made in the year 1958 in October. It was a game of tennis it was like a arcade machine and it weighted a several hundred pounds. This was made using a special computer which was known as a dial analogue computer.
The first console that was ever made was made in the year 1972 and by the person called Ralph Bear. The console that he made was called a brown box and it was operated by having batteries in it and by having lots of viable wires from the inside of it. However this Brown Box was a console prototype months later Atari released Magnavox Odyssey this console that was made was based on the prototype of Brown Box. When this came out a really popular game out on the console Pong. By the end of the year 1974 there had been sole more than 8000 units.
As the time went by there were more consoles made and more games made for those consoles specifically. For example Atari was made and founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, Nintendo was made in Japan in 1983 and was know as The Nintendo Entertainment system this console had the abbreviation as NES. PlayStation 1 was realized in the year 1994 in Japan. Microsoft's stock was realized 1986 but Microsoft was founded 1975.
Now in this era consoles are now built so they are more protected so the wires cant easily be damaged, If we was to compare the Brown box to the PlayStation 4 here are some advantages of both of the consoles.
Both of the consoles are portable So both of these can be taken or be carried around.
The PlayStation is a lot heavier than the brown box this is because of the plastics and the weight of the hard drives, drives and the bits of plastics that protect it. But because of this it makes the play station less vulnerable to accidents where as the brown box is very delicate. This because of the weak frame it has and also because of all the wires exposed.
The play station is wireless where as the Brown box is wired meaning that if the wire was to break for one of the controllers they wouldn't be capable of working again. Where as with the play station because the controllers are wireless this means that no wire accidents can possible, but that doesn't mean the controllers are indestructible they have a strong plastic shell to protect the wiring inside of the controller.
The difference between the different games from these multiple game consoles from the first too console ever to the consoles now. There are massive so here is the list of the differences and some advantages and disadvantages as well because of the platforms nowadays uses different types of media such as physical and digital.
I made a presentation on the history games this will provide more information on the history of games this includes the the golden age, games that were well known for being the first best games, a comparison on games from the first version made to the newest game and also my own opinion on games.

Today in class with Vinny we learned about the word OCEAN which is an anagram standing for openness to experience, conscientiousness, agreeableness, extroversion and neurotic-ism. These words have meaning than just they are more expandable, openness to experience is novelty, conscientiousness is a challenge, agreeable is harmony and extroversion is stimulation.
We talked about primary research and secondary research what the difference is. Primary research is when you find your own information yourself and do your own test to see what the results are. With secondary research this is research that someone else has done and you'r are using their research to use for your own research. We also looked at qualitative and quantitative, the difference between these two is that one is about the better quality of things and the other is about the quantity. The main difference is that qualitative is that it is a lot more detail compared to quantitative and quantitative is usually in a numerical form. Another example is that qualitative is that it will be measured by peoples answer whereas quantitative will be measure in a tally to see the most common results.
Designers use psychology in a games so that they can carry out research to see what gamer like about that game. Then designers can then aim the research that they have done at their audience and this also shows what games that they like.
To develop a players empathy you have to go against yourself and how you do that is, you play a game that you wouldn't usually play. The reason why it is good to have a good players empathy is because this way you understand why other players like certain games.`
These are the results from the website.
RESULTS FOR GUEST

YOU ARE LOW IN OPENNESS TO EXPERIENCE
Your score for openness was low, at 50%. Openness describes a person’s tendency to think in abstract, complex ways. High scorers tend to associate ideas and see relationships between things. Low scorers tend to see things more literally, and focus more on the practical, straightforward, and concrete.
People who are low in openness are typically:
- Practical
- Traditional
- Conventional
- Most comfortable in familiar surroundings
Low Openness scorers are more likely to be politically conservative and to spend their leisure time enjoying mainstream entertainment, including sports, movies, and pop music. They do not tend to be interested in art and usually avoid high-brow cultural activities like the opera or the ballet.

YOU ARE LOW IN CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
Your score for conscientiousness was low, at 40%.
Conscientiousness describes a person’s ability to exercise self-discipline and control in order to pursue their goals. High scorers are organized and determined, and are able to forego immediate gratification for the sake of long-term achievement. Low scorers are impulsive and easily sidetracked.
People who are low in Conscientiousness are usually:
- Impulsive
- Disorganized
- Spontaneous
- Carefree
People who are low in Conscientiousness are more likely to develop addictions of all kinds, as they have trouble resisting the impulse to engage in pleasurable activities. They also have more disorganized homes and offices. On the other hand, they tend to be more flexible and spontaneous, and do well in unpredictable environments where they must respond to constantly changing circumstances.

YOU ARE MODERATELY EXTRAVERTED
Your score for Extraversion was moderate, at 52.5%.
Extraversion describes a person’s inclination to seek stimulation from the outside world, especially in the form of attention from other people. Extraverts engage actively with others to earn friendship, admiration, power, status, excitement, and romance. Introverts, on the other hand, conserve their energy, and do not work as hard to earn these social rewards.
Extraversion seems to be related to the emotional payoff that a person gets from achieving a goal. While everyone experiences victories in life, it seems that extroverts are especially thrilled by these victories, especially when they earn the attention of others. Getting a promotion, finding a new romance, or winning an award are all likely to bring an extrovert great joy.
In contrast, introverts do not experience as much of a “high” from social achievements. Thus, they don’t make as much effort to seek them out. Introverts tend to be more content with simple, quiet lives, and rarely seek attention from others.
Your mid-range score on this dimension indicates that you are fairly average in your motivation to seek out social rewards. You probably have some desire for admiration, influence, and prestige, but you can also be content when you’re not winning recognition from others.

YOU ARE MODERATE IN AGREEABLENESS
Your score for Agreeableness was moderate, at 62.5%.
Agreeableness describes a person’s tendency to put others’ needs ahead of their own, and to cooperate rather than compete with others. People who are high in Agreeableness experience a great deal of empathy and tend to get pleasure out of serving and taking care of others. They are usually trusting and forgiving.
People who are low in Agreeableness tend to experience less empathy and put their own concerns ahead of others. Low scorers are often described as hostile, competitive, and antagonistic. They tend to have more conflict relationships and often fall out with people.
Your moderate score in Agreeableness indicates that you are fairly typical in the degree to which you balance your own interests with the interests of others. You are probably willing to sacrifice yourself for others some of the time, but you also watch out for yourself quite a bit.
The bartle types by Richard Bartle is a small cross grid there are 4 different bartle types they are, the sociallizer this is the player who likes to interact with other people then there is the killer this is the person who acts on other players. The explorer the player that likes to explore the and find new things and finally the achiever the player that plays to achieve things such as playing a game on the hardest difficulty. All of this determines on what gamer you are when it comes too looking at games. As well as there being 4 sections there are also 4 titles these are ; players the people who are playing, acting how people react and what they there actions are, interaction, the way they play so if they are deciding to go and talk to everyone meaning like NPC (bots players controlled by the game not by other players).

I did a survey to see how to see what people knew about knew there is 3 questions and only 1 of them had there was a specific rough answer. and the question was When the Magnavox Odyssey came out how many units were sold by the end of the next year from it coming out. and the other question were preference and was up to the person for what was there favorite 2-D game, finally the last question was how old and what gender.
I choose these sections because I like to play games in this section' For Novelty; I chose Fantasy and exploring because I like games like Minecraft, Challenge, I chose hard and work because I like games from this section where there is a challenge and then there is a grind, For example Destiny and Monster Legends. Harmony, Mechanics but only when they work and they don't glitch out for example I like league of legends but I dislike the fact that you can go through some animation scenes quickly. Stimulation, When it comes to Stimulation I love the multiplayer and a game that is thrilling which is a classic FPS game like Call of Duty, and when playing multiplayer it is a challenge because you are playing other people that play the game instead of A.IS.

Here is where I would personally put the games in the grid although with Minecraft it is building and exploring that is why I put myself as Fantasy and Exploring. Also With plant vs zombies I agree but not all the way since in the harder levels it becomes a lot more strategic. I think the position that Skyrim is at and where World of Warcraft are they could be switched. But with the rest of there games I agree with there places and think that they are placed in the right area.

Today's lesson objective was to develop greater understanding of the conventions of 2D platform games. Our task for the day was to design a level 1 level for super Mario. We used graph paper to design our levels by hand to get used to doing concept designs and to do it the original way as this the way professional developers at Nintendo used to do it. super Mario maker. After this we used a Wii U to create the ideas and put them into the game Super Mario Maker. The aim was to make a first level for the game to introduce the mechanics slowly and show them what it will be like for the first time. First we was doing concept designs for the level so we was thinking as a group how can we make it fun but a little challenging. We though what should we add and how can we add in obstacles slowly 1 by 1 to show how to over come them but to also show that they may be other ways to show this.
I think that overall it was quite successful even though the level wasn't finished this is because it gives a basic idea of the game. If a beginner played this they would have lots of fun because it is easy and they get lots of lifes meaning that even if they died they would be able to carry on and also it adds would be a good start to an adventure. Other games do this for example they give you special currency of free goodies to try and hook the player in and to think that they have a good start.
here are the concept
